forever earth

Forever Resorts has implemented a Green Procurement Program in our retail stores and through property purchasing as part of our Forever Earth Environmental Management Program and our concern for the environment.

The main goal of the program is to educate visitors to conserve the Earth's valuable natural resources. In an attempt to accomplish this goal, significant steps have been taken to locate and identify suppliers and artisans who incorporate environmentally responsible processes and materials into their products and observe environmentally friendly packaging and shipping methods.

The focus of the Forever Resorts Green Procurement Program includes:

Merchandise that is earth-wise, environmentally friendly and made from recycled and/or reclaimed materials (i.e. merchandise made from recycled glass, recycled paper, reclaimed wood, other recycled materials - pop bottles, milk bottles, fibers).

Processes that are environmentally responsible used in the development of merchandise products (i.e. merchandise made from standing dead trees, organic cotton).

Products with minimal or recycled packaging (i.e. merchandise without excessive packaging, packaging made from recycled materials).

Product labeling that explains the features of environmentally friendly merchandise items; describes recycled or reclaimed content and encourages the protection of our natural resources (i.e. merchandise products printed with "Printed on Recycled Paperboard" logo).

Product-packing materials that are reusable and efficient delivery methods used by vendors (i.e. regionally made merchandise delivered to us or shipped shorter distances).

Merchandise to promote the conservation of natural resources (i.e. reusable mugs, glassware, tote bags).

Signage to encourage reuse, recycling, reduction and conservation of natural resources (i.e. signs printed on recycled paper using chlorine fee techniques and printed with soy based inks that describe and persuade customer to "reduce, reuse, and recycle").

Reuse of vendor's product-packing material in packing customer purchases (i.e. using the packing peanuts and cardboard receive in shipments to repack merchandise for customers).

Pricing Tags printed on recyled paper with information promoting the protection of our resources (i.e. Many of the items we offer are handmade from natural materials. All natural materials are obtained from legally authorized sources outside National Park boundaries. Please join us in protecting National Park resources).

Lighting that is effective and energy efficient.

Shopping bags composed of industrial post consumer recycled paper.

Cleaning products which are naturally derived, non-phosphate, non-toxic, biodegradable, concentrated, and animal-friendly.

We are FOREVER committed to the preservation and protection of our natural resources. This program is just one small step in meeting the demand for environmentally sound choices and preserving our national and state parks, forests, and recreation areas as well as the planet for future generations.
